Our Services
We are stenographers who work closely with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community by providing realtime captioning of live events. This service is called CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation). A CART captioner transcribes words on a stenotype machine which are then converted into English by special computer software. The result is a verbatim English transcription, in realtime, which provides the individual or audience access to the spoken word.
The words can be displayed in a variety of ways: on an individual cell phone, on an iPad or tablet, on a computer screen, projected onto a large screen in an auditorium, or on hundreds of remote virtual users’ screens around the world. We work onsite or virtually at the following types of events:
- Academic classes
- Public and/or private meetings/conferences
- Graduations/commencements
- Trainings/workshops/webinars
- Offline video or audio transcription
- Other events as requested
- Captioning on Zoom, WebEx, YouTube via StreamText, or other platforms as requested
- StreamText enables simultaneous translation in over 50 languages.
